The first joint forced return flight of illegally staying third-country nationals took place on 26/08/2026, from Cyprus in cooperation with the Frontex Agency.
In addition to Cyprus, the Greek and Bulgarian authorities participated in the joint flight, which was carried out by the Aliens and Immigration Service with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection.
A total of 35 third-country nationals residing illegally on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, 15 third-country nationals by the Greek authorities and one by the Bulgarian authorities were repatriated, bringing the total number of repatriated to 51.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, until August 26, 2026, 6,027 third-country nationals have been repatriated to their countries of origin by the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, through the voluntary and forced return procedures.
