GREEK F-16 FLIGHTS AROUND PAPHOS ON A DAILY BASIS - THEY CO-EXIST WITH THE PAPHITES AND TOURISTS - Filenews 5/7

The daily flights of Greek fighter jets, stationed at Andreas Papandreou Air Base in Paphos, are captured daily through the videos of both locals and tourists.

The four fighters, which are in Cyprus to protect the Nicosia FIR from air threats, will continue to be at the air base in Paphos, indefinitely. In fact, as the Minister of Defense Vassilis Palmas stated in a show with journalist Paris Potamitis, "nothing is different in relation to the presence of aircraft in Cyprus. We will review and monitor the situation on a daily basis and accordingly we will adjust the presence or not of warplanes and ships in Cyprus, without this meaning that they will leave."

As revealed by filenews in an article, the Greek fighters are expected to be replaced by another type of aircraft of the Greek Air Force, as well as the frigate ELLI which is in Cypriot territorial waters, for the rest of its crew.
