The Municipality of Paphos continues at an intensive pace an ambitious program to upgrade the road network and consequently the safe movement within its municipal area.
This is a program for the asphalting of central and traffic-burdened roads, which have been presenting significant problems for years, with the road surface being in poor condition, full of potholes and other damage that causes problems in traffic flow and vehicles.
The start was made from Petridion Avenue, from the junction of Viofos to Embas Avenue. It is one of the most nodal points of the road network of the city of Paphos, serving the entire western area of Paphos, as well as communities in the north, such as Tala, but also the traffic flow to the city center and to the exit to the Paphos-Limassol highway.
Now, this road artery is served by a brand new and marked road surface, greatly improving the daily traffic of thousands of Paphians from the area. Similar works have been completed at other key points of the city's road network, such as the main avenue in Anavargos, the area of the Hospital and several others.
Speaking to "F", the Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, stressed that the projects that have started will continue covering all the problematic points of the city's road network. These are projects of major importance for the image of the city, but mainly for the safe and damage-free conduct of traffic traffic, he stressed, given that the condition of the roads on which work is being carried out was in many cases terrible.
The Municipality of Paphos responds to many and continuous complaints from citizens about an unacceptable image on main roads, he said, acknowledging the importance of improving the situation in this area.
