EUROPEAN UNION - ETIAS
As you are aware the ETIAS requirement is scheduled, after many postponements, to come into effect later this year.
There are rumours that due to the delays experienced by travellers because of processing for EES at the borders, implementation of ETIAS is likely to be delayed. Further information follows when available.
An ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is a travel authorisation required for visa-exempt nationals to enter 30 European countries for short stays.ETIAS is a new entry requirement for travellers from visa-exempt countries visiting the Schengen area and other participating European countries. It is linked to a traveller’s passport and is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. Travellers will have to apply online through the official ETIAS website or mobile app and pay a €20 fee, although some groups, such as minors and seniors, will be exempt from payment.
