
PAFOS REGION DOMESTIC TOURISM CAMPAIGN REACHES ITS PEAK - EXCELLENT RESULTS RECORDED SO FAR
The major summer campaign of the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, aimed at attracting domestic
tourism, is currently in full swing and it is reaching its peak. At the same time, a parallel campaign is being implemented with particular intensity, focusing exclusively on promoting the beautiful area of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous-Akamas.
This year’s strategy of the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism aims to remind permanent residents of
Cyprus of the unique experiences that the Pafos region has to offer. The promotion is being carried out
through a wide range of channels:
• Digital Media: Strong presence on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram through
targeted advertising.
• Audiovisual Material: Use of modern and attractive videos and photographs that highlight the tourism
product.
• Competitions: Organisation of online competitions offering rich prizes to the public.
With a strong focus on the exceptional natural beauty of the Polis Chrysochous area and Akamas, the
Pafos Regional Board of Tourism is running an intensive parallel campaign. The campaign highlights the area’s stunning natural environment, Akamas, clean beaches, relaxation and tranquillity, offering an ideal escape from the fast pace of everyday life.
To date, the advertising messages have appeared more than 4.3 million times through impressions, while more than 530,000 potential visitors have been reached or exposed to the messages of our campaign. We have achieved an exceptionally high engagement rate, with more than 200,000 engagements. The interaction rate with the campaign messages has also been particularly satisfactory, with more than 40,500 direct interactions recorded. The social media competitions and prize draws have also been a great success, with more than 50,000 people interacting with them in some form.
On the occasion of the campaign reaching its peak, the President of the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, Mr Michalis Mitas, stated: “Pafos remains the leading quality destination for the residents of Cyprus. This year, we are placing even greater emphasis on attracting domestic tourism across the entire region, with the aim of compensating for losses from foreign markets due to geopolitical and economic conditions, while also supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the campaign promotes Pafos as an affordable and high-quality holiday option close to home, offsetting the high cost of air travel. We invite our fellow citizens to visit Pafos and rediscover the hidden beauties of our island.”
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism continues to actively support the local economy and tourism
professionals, ensuring that the destination of Pafos will once again be the first choice this summer for the holidays of permanent residents of Cyprus.
