PAPHOS - RECORD STATE FUNDS OF €230 million FOR DEVELOPMENT - STARTING IN 2026

More than €230 million is flowing in parts to Paphos starting in 2026 in order to execute a total of 75 large and smaller development or infrastructure projects in the next few years.

These are record state funds, competent officials emphasize, which have already been announced and analyzed by the President of the Republic during the broad meeting with provincial bodies at the end of 2025.

At the top of the relevant list for another year, the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway, given the Government's position that it will be built with four traffic lanes and with additional access through Mesogi.

High on the agenda this year is the construction of the Paphos Western Bypass, which will connect the urban area with Chloraka, Emba and Mesogi and which will also mark the completion of the regional road network of the province, at a cost of €11 million.

The construction of the third phase of the Northern Bypass of Geroskipou will be announced in 2026 with a total expenditure of five million euros, while among the other projects that are now on the table are the construction of the overground pedestrian bridge in the area of the schools along Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue, the improvement of the old Limassol-Paphos main road, the improvement of the road leading to the communities of Achelia and Timi opposite 30 million euros and which will serve Paphos International Airport.

In 2026, improvements to the road network of Geroskipou, upgrading of the central avenue of Pegeia, the construction of the third phase of the Pegeia-Kissonerga coastal promenade, as well as the announcement of the Paphos Marina, a landmark project, which will make the city a top maritime and tourist destination, are also expected.

At the same time, Paphos will see from this year the creation of a Cultural Park and amphitheater in Acheleia, the digital upgrade of the Archaeological Museum, interventions in emblematic monuments, such as the Ancient Odeon and the pedestrian bridges in the area of Chrysopolitissa and much more.

This year is expected to be a milestone, based on the announcements of Nikos Christodoulides in the field of education as well, since the First Kindergarten and the Seventh Primary School of Agios Kendeas are being converted into new, modern High School and Primary School respectively, while at the same time the Primary School of Timi, the First Primary School of Chloraka, the High School and the Technical School of Empa will be upgraded and expanded.
