COUNCIL OF MINISTERS - APPROVED THE BILL FOR THE MONITORING OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS - IT WILL IMMEDIATELY BE FORWARDED TO PARLIAMENT

The Government is promoting a powerful weapon to combat organized crime.

Specifically, the Council of Ministers today approved the bill which provides, under strict conditions, for the monitoring of telephone conversations.

The President of the Republic himself, Nikos Christodoulides, took a position on the issue before the start of the Council of Ministers.

The bill will be immediately forwarded to the Parliament for a vote, in order to give this powerful weapon in the hands of the prosecuting authorities, in the fight against organized crime.
