Filenews 4 February 2026 - by Theano Thiopoulou

The Bank of Cyprus' network of bank branches is gradually changing, leveraging digital technology and incorporating modern banking trends and practices. As a result, in bank branches where for years customers expected to be served by the cashier, today this service has been abolished and, if they wish to transact in the traditional way at the counter, they should contact the nearest branch that offers it.

Already, the majority of banking transactions are carried out through alternative electronic networks, mobile and web banking, while the Bank of Cyprus is essentially shaping the branches of the future. Branch: Providing a full range of banking services, including cash transactions, general customer service, and financing. These stores are located in central locations in urban centers and rural areas, with the aim of providing comprehensive service.

Lending Unit: Provision of financial services, such as loans, credit cards, opening and managing accounts, servicing facility requests and updating customer details. No cash transaction service is offered. The aim is to specialize in granting loans to individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises, faster service and a personalized approach.

Transactions Branch: Provision of services related exclusively to cash transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, foreign exchange, etc.), opening and managing accounts and cards (without limit), as well as information on products and services offered. These stores have increased staff at the checkouts, with the aim of faster service.
