AKEL Paphos MP, Valentinos Fakontis, welcomes the Government's decisions to create a New Public Hospital in the area of Polis Chrysochous and expresses his particular satisfaction.
As he notes, this is a constant and timeless request of the entire province of Paphos, which is finally finding a substantial response.
Following the meeting held today at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the Minister of Health, the Members of Parliament of the Paphos District and the Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, there was a detailed briefing on the process of implementing the design and construction of the new Hospital.
According to the data presented, the new Hospital will be modern, with a budget of about €17 million, and will be erected in an area of 21,000 square meters behind the old camp. Its design is realistic and comprehensive, aiming to meet the increased needs of the area for decades to come.
As informed by OKYPY, the announcement of the tender for the project is expected between September and October 2026, with the aim of its completion two years after the award of the tenders.
The Member of Parliament for AKEL Paphos calls on all stakeholders to work consistently, responsibly and with dedication, in order to comply with the agreed timetables.
Finally, he assures that for his part he will closely monitor the progress of the implementation of the project and will contribute constructively, so that a great and common goal for Paphos and the wider area of Polis Chrysochous becomes a reality.
