The Drama International Short Film Festival travels to our island for another year, offering Cypriot film lovers the opportunity to enjoy remarkable short films. It is the leading Greek festival of its kind, which takes place every September in the beautiful city of Drama. The Drama International Short Film Festival “travels” with its films throughout Greece, Cyprus and many countries around the world, showcasing and disseminating the work of young filmmakers.
The responsibility for hosting the Festival in Cyprus lies with the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, the Rialto Theatre and the Drama Festival in collaboration with the Nicosia Film Friends Group, the Paphos House of Letters and Arts and the Larnaca and Limassol Film Clubs.
As every year, representatives of the Drama Festival and directors are hosted during the Festival's Journey to our island, and attend the screenings for discussion with the audience.
This year's guests are the Artistic Director of the Festival, Giorgos Angelopoulos, the director Dimitris Moutsiakas (film Gkekas) and the director Thelgia Petraki (400 Cassettes). It is noted that among the films that will be screened this year is the Cypriot film Requiem in Salt by Sylvia Nikolaidis and Nikolas Iordanous.
