In today's written statement, the Archbishop of Cyprus informs the plenitude of the Church of Cyprus that a specific person who appears as a member of the hierarchy is not recognized by the Church and therefore calls on the faithful not to be misled by him and his actions.
Kyprou Georgios states, in particular, that he is a person appearing mainly in the province of Paphos, but also on Social Media who appears as "clergyman Irineos". This person, the Archbishop emphasizes, does not belong, is not subject to and is not recognized by the Orthodox Church.
Any of his actions, actions and representations has nothing to do with the Church of Cyprus, nor with any other Orthodox church, Archbishop George points out.
Therefore, the Primate of the Church of Cyprus calls on the faithful to exercise special caution, not to be misled and not to participate in religious acts or gatherings related to the person in question.
