After a day of terror and intense anxiety for tomorrow, Paphos spent the evening in absolute silence. During the night and after the second major earthquake of the afternoon [5.3], the seismic phenomena stopped, at least those perceived by the citizens, as a result of which the evening passed without any other negative events in the province.
At the same time, the warnings of meteorologists for severe and extreme weather phenomena did not affect Paphos for the most part, since the night passed without even raining in most areas, except for the mountainous ones. From dawn today, however, the system seems to be approaching the city of Paphos and the low area, with lightning and thunder being the main feature of the weather phenomena for a few hours now, but without rain yet.
The day after the strong earthquakes will find, in the meantime, the crews of the EOA Paphos, the District Administration, the competent state departments and the local authorities on the roads to inspect the situation and intervene in the cases recorded by yesterday's continuous seismic activity minor problems and damages.
As the president of the EDA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis, told "F", the crews and services of the Organization are from the first moment of the occurrence of seismic activity in constant readiness for immediate intervention where the need arises.
