The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) warns of new incidents of sending misleading emails to unsuspecting consumers.
According to an announcement, these messages falsely claim that their invoice is now available electronically and invite consumers to pay for it through a malicious link.
It is also clarified that the messages in questiondo not originate from the EACand constitute anattempt at electronic fraud (phishing). The EAC urges the public to exercise extreme caution to emails that include links or attachments, as these may redirect to misleading or malicious websites, regardless of what is initially displayed.
