A forest fire between Koili and Tala that broke out late yesterday afternoon was brought under control. He burned an area of two hectares with wild vegetation.
According to an announcement by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, the fire broke out at 19:15 at the location "Vatouthkia" and was brought under full control at 22:00.
The firefighting operation involved 17 people from the Department of Forests with 3 fire trucks and a land pusher, 6 people from the Fire Service with 2 fire trucks and 2 people from the Game and Fauna Service with 1 small fire truck.
During the night, to deal with any flare-ups, firefighting forces of the Department of Forests remained at the scene.
