AQUA MEMORIA - ECHOES OF A SACRED HILL
Fabrika Hill, Kato Paphos
18 October - 9 November - opening night 5pm
The Cultural Movement ex-Artis invites the public to the opening of the contemporary art exhibition entitled: "Aqua Memoria: Echoes of a Sacred Hill", on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 5 p.m., on the Hill of Fabrika in Kato Paphos.
The exhibition, under the artistic curation of art historian Dr. Catherine Louis Nikita and under the scientific guidance of archaeologist Prof. Claire Ballandier, who is leading the excavations at the archaeological site of Fabrika, is part of the ECO ART projects of the Cultural Movement ex-Artis and proposes a site-specific artistic approach with works and installations in outdoor spaces and underground chambers of the archaeological site.
Visitors are invited to follow a route up the hill, engaging in a dialogue between art, history, and the critical social and environmental issues of today.
The title of the exhibition, "Aqua Memoria: Echoes of a Sacred Hill", explores the timeless relationship between man and water – as an element of life, worship and spirituality – through the historical layers of Fabrika.
The hill is a unique spiritual palimpsest, where successive expressions of the sanctuary overlap over the centuries on its top, near the ancient city of Nea Paphos, where water has sculpted the limestone for millennia.
