A farmers' market of fruits and vegetables will operate with the new year and within the boundaries of the municipality of Paphos. The Municipality of Paphos had announced an open call for interest to participate in the new Outdoor Public Market, which will be organized in the Western Part of the Municipal Parking Lot of Pervola (on Fellachoglou Street), with a total area of 200 sq.m., every Saturday and/or Sunday from 06:00 – 13:00, for the sale of perishable and/or fruit. Next Tuesday, the contract for the construction of a metal shelter for the municipal vegetable market will be signed. The canopy will be constructed in such a way that on the remaining days the space will still be used as a parking lot.
In the area, producers will be able to sell their products directly to consumers, leaving traders out of the farmers' markets, and in this way both producers who will have the exclusive right to set up and sell, and consumers who will buy products at lower prices will benefit.
