Cyprus is set to experience a gradual return to high temperatures above seasonal averages over the coming days, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Today’s weather will be mainly clear with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius inland, 32 degrees on the western coast, around 35 degrees on remaining coastal areas and 30 degrees in higher mountainous regions.
The department forecasts mainly clear conditions for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will show a slight increase on Friday and a further rise on Saturday, moving above average climatological values for the time of year.
The mercury is expected to return to elevated levels as the island experiences warmer conditions than typically recorded during this period.
