The Mavrokolymbos dam will operate with the new hydrological season, after October, the Ministry of Agriculture assures. According to information, the mud has already been cleaned and the planning of the new works that will be done is expected to begin soon in order not to repeat the failure that led to the emptying of the dam.
The works, which are expected to be implemented in September, are technically difficult, since works and concrete transport are planned at a depth of fifty meters from the surface. The assurances given, however, are that despite the difficulties, the dam will be repaired and will begin to collect water again with the first rains of the new season.
