CYPRS RESCUE SEEKS UK FOSTER CARERS FOR FIRE-STRICKEN ANIMALS

 in-cyprus 26 July 2025

Strongest Together Animal Rescue, a Cyprus-based animal rescue organisation, is appealing for UK foster carers to help accommodate dogs displaced by the recent devastating wildfires, as local shelters and foster networks reach capacity.

The rescue group has reported that shelters and foster carers in Cyprus are overwhelmed following the wildfires, with many dogs rescued from situations where they were left behind, injured, or displaced by the fires.

The organisation has scheduled its next flight to the UK for August and is seeking foster carers ready to receive dogs upon their arrival. The rescue covers all veterinary and travel costs, with foster carers providing temporary homes and care.

The group is looking for UK-based individuals able to foster from August who are open to helping dogs of various ages and sizes. Interested parties can contact the organisation via email at adoption@staradopt.org to apply or ask questions.

“By fostering, you’re not just giving a dog a safe place to land—you’re helping us make room for the next one still waiting in danger,” the organisation stated in its appeal.

The rescue emphasised that even providing one foster space could save a life, as the organisation works to create capacity for additional animals still requiring assistance in Cyprus.

Those interested in fostering or seeking more information about the programme can contact the rescue organisation directly through their adoption email address. adoption@staradopt.org
