The Cyprus Animal Party has appealed to supermarkets and industries to donate water containers for animals in need of drinking water in areas devastated by wildfires.
The party issued an urgent call on Friday for free containers to be used in burnt areas to provide water for animals searching for food and water.
“With your contribution, lives will be saved,” the party said in a statement.
“The water shortage and the almost complete absence of drinking water means this solution could give relief to animals that may be wandering in burnt areas looking for food and water”.
The organisation said animals in fire-affected regions face severe dehydration due to the lack of available drinking water sources.
