A cruise ship carrying about 1,600 Israeli passengers is reportedly heading to Cyprus instead of Syros, after protests broke out on the Greek island against the presence of Israelis, according to Israeli media reports.
As reported by Israeli media, the cruise company Mano Maritime decided not to approach the port of Syros due to the wave of reactions and protests caused in view of the ship's arrival.

About 300 people gathered in the morning at the port of Ermoupolis in Syros, protesting the presence of the cruise ship. The protest was attended by citizens, members of associations and local organizations, who held Palestinian flags and hung banners that read: "Stop the genocide", expressing their opposition to the events taking place in the Middle East.
The same information states that the ship has modified its course and is expected to dock in Limassol.
Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said he had contacted his Greek counterpart, asking for Athens' intervention for the smooth mooring of the ship, according to a report by the Times of Israel.
