An orange warning for extreme maximum temperature, valid from 12 noon to 5 pm on Wednesday, was issued by the Department of Meteorology on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the warning, the maximum temperature is expected to rise to around 43 degrees Celsius inland and around 34 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Today, the weather will be mainly clear. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the afternoon on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to 43 degrees inland, around 36 on the south, east and north coasts and around 34 degrees on the west coast as well as in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, but locally in the east, light fog and low cloud may form. Winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, weak and occasionally locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. The temperature will drop to around 25 degrees inland and on the coast and to 23 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear. The temperature on Thursday will increase slightly, while until Saturday it will remain at the same levels, to continue to fluctuate significantly above the average climatic values.
