The Nicosia municipality has announced a new phase of roadworks as part of the major redevelopment project “Revitalisation of the Inner Perimeter of the Moat – Phase A”, with fresh closures coming into effect from Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
As of that date, a key section of the road network — from the “OXI” roundabout to Eleftheria Square — will be closed to traffic to allow for landscaping and renovation works. This section is expected to remain closed until the end of 2025.
At the same time, the municipality has reopened the southern portion of Trikoupi Street. While traffic has resumed on that stretch since May 30, pavement works are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the eastern section of Konstantinou Palaiologou Avenue — from Archbishop Makarios II Square (Kolokasi opening) to the entrance of the Costanza Bastion municipal car park — will remain closed to vehicles for at least another two months.
In addition to roadworks and underground infrastructure installations, facade improvement works on private buildings will be carried out in various parts of the project area.
The full revitalisation project is expected to span 20 months.
