The Democritus University of Thrace and Neapolis University Paphos announce the creation of a new common, English-speaking Undergraduate Program in Medicine.
According to a relevant announcement, the University Institutions, being members of the European Alliance of Universities EMERGE and constantly oriented towards extroversion and excellence, join forces to create a common, well-structured and modern – according to the latest scientific developments – Medical Studies Program.
As mentioned, the joint Medical Program will provide the opportunity to its enrolled students to carry out high-level Medical Studies at both Neapolis University Paphos and the Democritus University of Thrace, utilizing the building and technological infrastructure at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis https://www.pgna.gr/, covering all specialties and staffed by well-trained academic and medical staff.
The Rectors of the two Universities, Professors Fotios Maris (Democritus University of Thessaloniki) and Pantelis Sklias (Faculty of Applied Sciences) jointly expressed their particular satisfaction with this development. We are convinced that the new joint Medical Program will attract excellent students from Cyprus, Europe, and third countries, expanding the range of extroversion and internationalization of the two University Institutions. The Program will be structured in such a way that it meets the high standards and quality requirements set by the European Commission, in order to obtain the European Label designation and evolve into a European Degree through the procedures for the creation of common Study Programs within the framework of the European EMERGE Alliance.
"We are immediately starting the joint hard work required to proceed with the next steps of the certification process and the possibility of providing the Program in Greece and Cyprus," concluded the rectors of the two Universities.
