Pafos Live 2 April 2025
Cypriot tourism enters 2025 with increased optimism, as Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis said in statements in Paphos, stressing that the first data show that the new year will be at least as good as 2024 – a milestone year for Cyprus, as it exceeded 4 million arrivals and 3 billion euros in tourism revenues for the first time.
As stated by Mr. Koumis, who represented the Government in Paphos at the celebrations for April 1st, there is already a 6% increase in arrivals compared to last year, while the country's air connectivity has further improved, giving justifiable hopes for an even greater tourist flow.
The Deputy Minister placed particular emphasis on the need to extend the tourist season, mentioning that policies and incentives have been activated that address special forms of tourism, such as sports. As he mentioned in the previous two weeks alone, two sporting events brought more than 5,000 arrivals from abroad, confirming the potential of such initiatives in enhancing the "mature" months.
