 Pafos Live 4 April 2025

The Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that the Department of Public Works has signed the contract "Provision of services for the collection of traffic data and analysis at 85 (light-controlled/priority) junctions in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos". The contract was signed, on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, by the Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Eleftherios Eleftheriou, and, on behalf of the company Scientra Consulting Engineers, the Director of the company, Mr. Demosthenes Pavlou.

The purpose of the contract is to collect traffic data in 85 light-controlled and priority junctions throughout Cyprus. These data will be evaluated to determine the need to upgrade and improve traffic management at light-controlled intersections, as well as for possible installation of signalling at priority junctions. This is expected to increase traffic capacity at the junctions, reduce travel time and minimise delays.

Following a bidding process, the contract has been awarded to the successful bidder for an expense of €65,000 plus VAT with an implementation period of 9 months and is expected to be completed within 2025.
