Security guards will be deployed on routes of the Pafos transport organisation that transport students to and from schools in the district in the near future.
According to information, the competent ministry in cooperation with the contractor companies, apparently the problem is not only located in Paphos, they have launched the procedures for concluding contracts with companies of private security guards. The aim is to tackle what is described as the scourge of damage caused by a small proportion of pupils on buses.
Damages of tens of thousands of euros have been recorded so far, which has led in several cases to the taking of measures by the organization and bus drivers.
The measures, which do not transport pupils, inconvenience the parents themselves, who are forced to transport children to schools by their own means of transport. With this measure, the parties involved hope that the problem and the conflicts will be solved.
