The deadline for the electronic registration of students who will attend the first grade of public Gymnasiums in the next school year (2025-2026) is extended until Friday, April 4, 2025, as announced by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YPAN).
As clarified, all children have the right to register, regardless of nationality and the legal residence of their parents or guardians in Cyprus.
Students who currently attend private primary schools, of similar or different type, and wish to attend a public Gymnasium, must submit an online application through the eSEAA system and sit for qualifying exams in Modern Greek and History courses.
The registration process is done through the eCME portal (https://edea.schools.ac.cy), after the parents/guardians have created an account on the CY Login platform. The relevant instructions and video guides are available online, while for technical support the telephone line 22558618 and the above e-mail address are provided.
The Ministry of Education states that after creating an account and logging in to the platform, parents/guardians will have to create the Parent/Guardian Profile and then the Student Profile, in order to proceed with the submission of the registration application. For students whose details are not automatically confirmed by the Population Archive, an identity card or other relevant document is required.
The eCME system automatically determines the school of attendance. If this is not possible, parents should contact the relevant District Office of Secondary Education for further instructions.
Applications will be examined by schools by April 4. Parents will be informed of the approval or of a possible need to fill in details. The deadline for attaching documents is 8 April 2025. The school units will complete the approval process by April 10.
For transfer applications, the relevant possibility will be open from 9 to 24 April 2025. The application is registered on the same platform, with the obligation to justify the request and choose a destination school. The approval or rejection is notified through the ePP, with automatic transfer of the approved students to the new school.
