The Municipal Park of Colours in the central fabric of Pafos is increasingly gaining life in his daily life. Following the recent signing of the contract for the granting of a license for the full management of the Park to the preferred bidder, the facilities of the major project are flooded daily by hundreds of citizens who enjoy the natural landscape and infrastructure of the Park.
The project, being the largest in Cyprus in terms of its kind, approximately 32,000 square meters, and featuring lush greenery and a wide range of infrastructure and facilities, comes to enrich the urban infrastructure of the city and the possibilities of quality recreation of its inhabitants, contributing to the improvement of their quality of life.
What gives special value to the Park is the fact that while it is located in the city center, due to its extent, morphology, landscape and design, it gives the visitor the feeling that he is in a secluded space with quiet, in an environment of tranquility, he said.
The Park was formed into Turkish-Cypriot owned land that was leased to the Municipality. It has square gathering places, playground for children, cafeteria, botanical garden, basketball court, tennis court, small football field, roller rink, climbing wall, outdoor exhibition area, sanitary facilities, 83 parking spaces (including spaces for disabled people), central route etc. The total cost of construction and equipment of the Park amounted to around €3.6 million.
The recently signed contract concerns the granting of a license for the use of all the Park's infrastructure: cafeteria, three sports areas, climbing wall, toilets/changing rooms, playground, skate park, tennis court, parking and common areas. The licensee will undertake the obligation of maintenance and decorum of the entire Park, having the right for the commercial exploitation of the cafeteria, the sports areas and the climbing wall.
