The Department of Civil Aviation warns that flying kites or drones near the approach zones of Larnaka and Pafos airports may endanger flights and cause concern to flight personnel.
In a relevant announcement, the Department calls on excursionists to avoid the use of kites and drones in airport areas, in order to ensure flight safety and the smooth operation of aviation.
Moreover, an announcement by Larnaka Municipality states that "kite flying in the area of Larnaka Airport, and especially in the areas of approach of aircraft (Aliki – Tekke, Mackenzie Beach, Kitty and Perivolia), should be avoided on Clean Monday, as it may cause risks to flight safety".
Larnaka Municipality "looks forward to the public's understanding and cooperation, with the aim of avoiding any possible undesirable situation and ensuring public safety".
