Another coordinated operation for the repatriation of foreigners staying illegally in the Republic of Cyprus was carried out by the Police.
In cooperation with the FRONTEX Agency, on 22/02/2025, 14 third-country nationals were repatriated on a joint return flight carried out by the Italian authorities, in which the Cyprus Police also participated.
This is the 2nd participation of the Republic of Cyprus in FRONTEX joint operations for the year 2025.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, 2,056 persons staying illegally in Cyprus have left the country through forced and voluntary return procedures, compared to 1,639 persons in the same period last year.
Within the day, another operation is planned by the FRONTEX agency and the German authorities, with the participation of the Cyprus Police, for the repatriation of another 10 nationals of a specific third country.
The efforts of the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service to maximize the number of returns continue.
