Filenews 7 January 2025
In January, student registrations for the school year 2025-2026 in Public Primary Schools and Kindergartens will be conducted electronically.
However, a new electronic system for enrolment/transfers in the first grade of Primary School will be implemented for the first time this year, in the context of e-government, with the aim of modernizing existing procedures and upgrading the services provided.
Specifically, the enrolment of Grade A students for the school year 2025-2026 in Public Primary Schools will be conducted electronically from January 7, 2025 until January 19, 2025.
Specifically, for the smooth conduct of registrations/transfers, parents/guardians are kindly requested to follow the following:
1. REGISTRATION TIME
- The enrolment of Grade A students for the school year 2025-2026 in Public Primary Schools will be conducted electronically from January 7, 2025 until January 19, 2025. In order for Grade A students to be able to register during this period, parents/guardians must create an account at CY Login from December 18, 2024 until January 6, 2025 and then create their profile in the online registration system.
- There will be no new registration period, except for students who for good reason could not register during the above period.
- No school will approve additional classes than those resulting from January registrations. Therefore, parents/guardians who do not register their children during the registration period will be obliged to enrol them in the nearest school in their area, where there will be vacancies.
- Applications for transfer of Grade A students will be submitted electronically by parents/guardians from 22 to 26 January 2025.
- Students of Grade A who present themselves for registration after January 19, 2025 or for transfer after January 26, 2025, should contact the relevant District Education Office (E.G.P.) to guide them on the procedure they should follow for the late submission of an application for registration/transfer.
- The Unified All-Day Schools (EOS) have compulsory attendance until 15:05 or until 16:00 (except Wednesdays where the hours of 7:45 to 13:05 apply, with the exception of the Primary School of Agios Antonios which has five-day afternoon attendance). There is only one departure time for all students of each EGTC. Parents/guardians who cannot meet this timetable should request registration/transfer to another school within the enrolment/transfer schedules.
2. REGISTRATION/TRANSFER PROCEDURE
The enrolment/transfer to the first grade of Primary School will be done electronically following the following procedure:

- Until January 22, 2025: Parents/guardians submit the remaining data/data/information/forms in order to approve registration.

Parents/Guardians who will face any problem in the next steps (Parent Profile, Student Profile, Registration Form, Transfer Application) can contact a competent officer at 22558618 phone number or their child's school to help them with them.
3. RIGHT TO REGISTER
- All children, of any nationality, residing in Cyprus, regardless of the legal or non-legal residence of their parents/guardians on the island, have the right to register.
- Children born between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019 are accepted for enrolment in Grade A.
4. EDUCATION DISTRICTS
- The revised educational districts for the school year 2025-2026 have been posted on the website of the Ministry of Education, in order to check the addresses of the students' residences, which are presented for registration.
- Education districts are registered in the eCMP online system, so during the application process for enrolling a child in Grade A, the system will automatically show the school where the child needs to be enrolled, based on his/her home address. If a child's home address is not registered in the system, parents/guardians are requested to contact the relevant GSP so that the child's street can be registered and registration is possible.
- All students are enrolled at the Primary School of their educational district unless they have older siblings, who are attending grades A-E this school year. In this case, parents/guardians are invited to contact the school their older children attend, if it is not the school of their educational district, to instruct them how to enrol the child of the first grade without the need for the transfer process.
5. NECESSARY FORMS/CERTIFICATES/DOCUMENTS
Birth Certificate/Identity Card/Alien Registration Card (ARC)
- For students who were not born in Cyprus and their details cannot be confirmed by the Civil Registry, an Identity Card or Alien Registration Card (ARC) is required, which must be scanned and attached to the system.
- For students born in Cyprus and their details are automatically confirmed by the system, through the Civil Registry, the presentation of a Birth Certificate/Identity Card/Alien Registration Card (ARC) is not required.
Bills proving residential street
- All parents/guardians must provide two recent garbage and electricity bills proving that the street of residence of the student is the one declared and falls within the school's educational district. It is noted that those who reside in the Municipality of Aglantzia, due to the fact that they do not have a garbage account, will have to provide in addition to the electricity bill and the title deed.
- In cases where the student's residence is rented and it is not possible to present a garbage bill, it must be presented, in addition to the electricity bill and the rental document.
- In cases where due to a recent move, there is no garbage bill, the building permit and a recent electricity bill must be presented.
- It is noted that, regarding parents/guardians who live in the same house with their grandparents or other relatives, and therefore do not have in their own name the two accounts required to certify the address of residence, they must provide:
(a) accounts showing the name of the relative with whom they reside; and
(b) a solemn declaration stating the name of the relative with whom they reside and since when they live with the person concerned.
The declaration must be signed by both the student's parents/guardians and the relative with whom they live. Finally, the signed declaration must be certified by the relevant President of the Community/Mayor/Certifying Officer.
- Parents/guardians scan and attach these forms.
Vaccination status
- Parents/guardians should scan and upload the Vaccination Card or the relevant pages of the Health Booklet, which will show the child's vaccination status and indicate his name.
- The Vaccination Card or the relevant pages of the Health Booklet should be scanned and attached regardless of whether the vaccines have been administered or not, that is, the relevant Card or pages must be attached even if licensed.
- Although it is preferable to attach the child's Vaccination Card, a relevant certificate from the child's Paediatrician may be accepted.
Certificate of Attendance at Pre-Primary Class
- The Directors of Public Pre-primary Schools will issue and give to the children, before the start of registrations in January, the relevant certificate.
- Parents/guardians of pupils attending Community or Private Kindergartens should obtain, before the start of registrations in January, this certificate from the Administration of the School their child attends.
- Parents/guardians scan and attach this certificate.
- In case it is found that a child does not attend a Kindergarten registered in the Ministry of Education, the parents/guardians:
(a) immediately arrange for their child to be enrolled in another Kindergarten which is registered with the Ministry of Education and Culture and
(b) proceed with the online registration in Class A. Registration will remain pending until the parents/guardians attach the certificate of registration of their child in a registered Kindergarten.
- The lists of registered Community/Private Kindergartens are posted on the website of the Ministry of Education.
- It is noted that, at the beginning of attendance in the first grade of Primary Schools, in September 2025, it will be necessary to present an official indicative attendance in the Pre-primary class from a Public/Community/registered Private Kindergarten (not a Kindergarten).
6. STUDENT TRANSFERS
- Applications for transfer will be submitted by parents/guardians electronically, after the registration process has been completed and after the school has confirmed that the registration has been approved.
- It is emphasized that, in case a child has secured in previous years a transfer for attendance at a Kindergarten outside his/her educational region, this does not ensure his/her continued attendance at the neighbouring Primary School. Parents/guardians should reapply for transfer if they wish their child to attend outside their educational district. The child's attendance at a neighbouring Kindergarten does not give any advantage over other children when considering his application for transfer.
7. PERIOD FOR EXAMINING TRANSFER APPLICATIONS
- The examination of transfer applications will take place between 27 January and 7 February 2025.
- There will be no further transfer review period.
- The approval or rejection of the transfer application will be done through the electronic system. That is, through the system, both parents/guardians and affected schools will be informed. The child who has been approved for transfer is transferred from the system to his new school. So you don't need to re-enrol in the new school.
