Tupperware Cyprus in a message to its partners informed that tomorrow, January 8, 2025 it will complete its activity in Cyprus – after 59 years of presence on the island – due to the decision taken by the company to revoke the license to sell Tupperware products in all European countries.
With this decision, the curtain falls on the well-known Tupperware that made their appearance in Cyprus since 1966 and became particularly known for their way of promotion, namely with home demonstrations.
"F" has secured and presents to you the company's message to its Cypriot partners, through which it informs them about the decisions and the availability of the company's products that are in stock.
More specifically, the company's announcement to its Cypriot partners states:
"Dear Tupperware enthusiasts,

It filed for bankruptcy last September
It is recalled that the company has been facing significant liquidity problems in recent years with a debt of many millions of euros. As a result, the company decided to initiate bankruptcy proceedings last September and halt sales in Europe.
The History of Tupperware
Products under the name Tupperware appeared in 1946 in the post-war period. The first product introduced by Earl Tupper was the Wonderlier Bowl, which is still sold today in various colours and sizes. The Wonderlier Bowl had the advantage of all other food containers since it was lighter, did not break like glass or ceramics, and mainly because it came with a watertight and airtight cover.
Airtight Cover
In 1946 Earl Tupper introduced his now legendary airtight cover. The airtight cover helped prevent the food from drying out and losing its flavour and aroma in the refrigerator. Despite the revolution it brought, the new product did not have satisfactory sales in supermarkets since consumers needed a demonstration to understand its uses and function.
In response to the above, Tupperware introduced in 1948 a completely new way of approaching the consumer with home demonstrations. The demonstrations dramatically boosted sales growth as it became easy for the consumer to see the benefits of Tupperware. They were so successful that in 1951 he withdrew the products from supermarket shelves and continued to sell them only with home demonstrations.
