It is with great satisfaction, after many efforts and actions, that we were informed that the conversion of the Fifth Primary School of Pafos and the First Public Kindergarten of Pafos into a new Gymnasium and a new Primary School of Pafos will be implemented. This is stated by the vice-chairman of the Education Committee of the Parliament, Pafos MP Chrysanthos Savvides.
As we have been informed, he said, the Department of Town Planning and Housing has granted a derogation, while the proposal to the Council of Ministers is already being prepared. Construction plans are proceeding normally, and it is expected that tenders will be launched in six months' time. The appropriations have been included in the 2025 budget as well as in the MDA 2025-2026.
I am particularly pleased about this development, as the city of Pafos is in urgent need of new school units due to the ever-increasing population, which seems to grow rapidly every year, Mr. Savvides stresses.
