The flow of Syrians to the offices of the Deputy Ministry of Migration & International Protection continues with an increasing trend, one month after the fall of the Assad regime. According to the competent Deputy Minister, Nicolas Ioannides, so far more than 900 asylum seekers originating from Syria have withdrawn their applications or revoked their international protection status, while about 300 have already left Cyprus.

In a post on "X", the Deputy Minister states that "within a month, more than 900 Syrians have either withdrawn asylum applications or revoked international protection status in order to be repatriated. Already, about 300 Syrians have left Cyprus. The officers of the Deputy Ministry continue to work intensively to facilitate those Syrians who wish to return to their homeland."
