Residents of the communities of Emba, Chlorakas, Lemba and Tala complain strongly about the frequent power cuts by EAC. It is indicative that in the last 24 hours, 3 power outages were recorded, two of them for long hours in the western low area of Paphos.
The residents and the community leaders of these areas wonder if it is normal to have interruptions without actually very bad weather. When contacted by EAC, they received the answer that it was a fault in substations that supply specific areas.
The supply has now been restored, but residents complain about damage to household electrical equipment, not only from the outages of the last two days, but also the outages that are recorded too often and unnecessarily, as they claim.

Residents of the communities of Embas, Talas, Chlorakas and Kissonerga face a problem due to interruptions in the electricity supply, with the EAC making efforts to repair the damage
In his statements to the KYPE the President of the K.S. Embas Marios Metaxas reported that in the last 24 hours, three power outages were recorded, two of which were long hours, as he said.
He stated that he contacted EAC officials and received the reply that an attempt is being made to repair the damage. According to Mr. Metaxas, the problems in the electricity supply of these areas arose from the first bad weather that hit the district of Paphos.
Besides, when asked about this by KYPE, the Press Representative of the Cyprus Electricity Authority, Christina Papadopoulou, stated that there was damage in several places in the areas of Embas, Talas, Chlorakas and Kissonerga, due to the intense lightning activity.
The lightning, said Ms. Papadopoulou burned EAC network equipment, noting that the crews were constantly trying to repair and replace damaged equipment but there were also places that were inaccessible for the crews.
Today she said, "the crews are there, and we are informing the residents of the areas of Embas, Talas, Chlorakas and part of the Kissonerga area, that there will be short-term power outages to repair the damage identified by our crews and to replace damaged equipment".
Ms. Papadopoulou asked for the understanding of the residents during the restoration of the damages that have been identified, noting that it will be of short duration, not exceeding thirty minutes.
