Police investigations are ongoing into the large quantity of drugs found in hand luggage in a container imported from abroad.

Specifically, members of the Anti-Narcotics Administration – YKAN, after receiving and investigating relevant information, located the hand luggage on November 13, which contained a quantity of cocaine with a gross weight of 30 kg.

According to Filenews information from police sources, the ship stopped at various ports en route to Larnaka. What investigators consider to be the prevailing scenario is that the drugs were destined for another country, since they are a huge quantity for the Cyprus market.

It is estimated that the quantity placed in the ship's cargo may have been greater and that this bag with 30 kilos of cocaine was mistaken and not noticed.
