A 22-year-old man was identified and arrested by members of the Police, who was wanted in connection with an ongoing case of assault, causing injury, stabbing, possession of an offensive instrument, and conspiracy to commit a felony, offences committed in Paphos, on September 28, 2024. Police are still looking for a 24-year-old man in the same case.

According to the evidence under investigation, on September 28, at around 8.30 pm, in an area in Paphos, a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were attacked by a number of people, resulting in injuries, the first in various parts of his body and the second in the leg.

The 22-year-old suspect was identified yesterday afternoon and arrested under a court warrant. A third suspect, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on September 29, with the case against him already registered for trial before the Paphos District Court.

The Pafos District Court issued a three-day detention order against a 52-year-old man to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of building burglary, theft and malicious damage.

According to Pafos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on 28.10.24 a 63-year-old businessman from Geroskipou reported that between the period August 2024 and 28.10.24 he found that a building used as a restaurant was burglarized and restaurant equipment and alcoholic beverages of a total value of  €40,000 were stolen. 

The burglary also caused damage amounting to €1,500. As part of the examinations, suspicions were raised against a 52-year-old man, who was a former owner of the restaurant in question and who was arrested and is in three-day detention.

The Paphos Police proceeded to arrest a 26-year-old man to facilitate investigations for an investigated case of disturbance, malicious damage, assault against a Police Officer and resisting lawful arrest.

According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations Michalis Nikolaou on 9.11.24 shortly before midnight a message was issued that a person staying at a hotel in Kato Paphos caused damage to the lobby of the 2nd floor of the hotel and was causing concern.

Members of the Paphos Crime Prevention Ulam went to the scene, but the specific person, however, in the presence of the Police, allegedly continued to swear while it was found that there were broken objects there.

As Mr. Nikolaou said, despite the promptings of the Police, he continued to cause concern, attacked the members of the Police, pushing them and was arrested for the spontaneous offenses of assault and concern.

During the arrest, he allegedly resisted and was taken to the Police, where it was established that he is a 26-year-old visitor to Cyprus.  

Yesterday Sunday the 26-year-old was re-arrested on a warrant for causing malicious damage and was taken into custody.

A 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested in Nicosia for a string of burglaries and thefts. They even pushed members of the Police to escape!

According to a police announcement, in the context of investigating a number of cases of burglaries and thefts committed recently in the Nicosia district, the Police proceeded yesterday to arrest two persons.

They are men aged 19 and 22 who were detained to facilitate interrogations.

The two arrested were found yesterday afternoon following a coordinated operation by members of the Nicosia ICF moving suspiciously in an area of Nicosia.

After being stopped for identity checks, they tried to escape by pushing the members of the Police, as a result of which they were arrested for flagrant offenses.

Under oral questioning, they allegedly admitted to committing a total of ten (10) burglaries and thefts committed between February and November 2024 in the Nicosia district.

Today, they are expected to be brought before a court for a detention order.

The ICF Nicosia continues the examinations.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in Larnaca in connection with a case of illegal possession of narcotic substances.

According to the Police, yesterday at 14:45, following a tip-off, members of the Larnaka Cycling Police stopped the 26-year-old for checking on Athinon Avenue, in Larnaca, next to the Medieval Castle.

During the search, he was allegedly found in a waist bag carrying a quantity of drugs and the 26-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence.

Members of the Larnaca Police Department transferred the 26-year-old to the Larnaca Police Station for further investigation of the case.

A fight, in broad daylight, between foreigners at a house in the area of Mesa Geitonia ended in stabbings.

According to initial information, foreigners were caught in arms inside a house located opposite a high school.

From the scuffle, a person drew a knife and injured a foreigner.

Members of the Police rushed to the scene as well as an ambulance where the injured man was picked up. At first sight, he does not appear to be seriously injured.

According to the first information, two persons living in the same house, under circumstances that are being investigated, quarrelled for an unknown reason and one of them recovered a knife and injured the victim aged 26, who has two lacerations. It should be noted that the perpetrator fled the scene in an unknown direction

The scene has been cordoned off by members of the OPE and the ICF of Limassol and examinations are underway.
