At the same time, last week, 146 foreigners staying illegally in Cyprus returned to their countries of origin. Among them, five departed Cyprus on a joint forced return flight of irregular migrants carried out by the Belgian authorities, coordinated by the FRONTEX agency.
This is the 14th participation of the Cyprus Police in FRONTEX joint operations this year.
Since the beginning of 2024, until today, 8,633 persons have been repatriated/expelled from the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
