New arrest, in connection with a case of detection and seizure of cannabis and cannabis resin, gross weight over 35kg, seized in February 2023. He is a 24-year-old resident of Limassol against whom testimony emerged and was arrested yesterday under a court warrant to facilitate investigations.

Two persons, aged 28 and 23, have already been sentenced to 14 years in prison in the same case.

The two had been arrested on February 6, 2023, during an operation by the YKAN, during which the quantity of drugs was detected. Specifically, during a search of the 28-year-old's apartment, a sum of €155, a quantity of cannabis with a total gross weight of 28 kg and 364 grams, as well as a quantity of cannabis resin, with a gross weight of six kilograms and 880 grams, were located and seized.

As part of the same operation, the 23-year-old's car was searched, where a small amount of cannabis and the amount of €440 were found and confiscated.

The 14-year-old, who was arrested on October 24 on suspicion of trafficking edited photographs of female students at a high school in the Larnaka district, was brought before the Dhekelia British Bases Court again on Monday morning. According to information from the British Bases, the minor pleaded guilty to the crime of child pornography and will appear again on December 16 before the Dhekelia Court, the date on which his lawyer will plead for mitigation of his sentence.

The 14-year-old will return to school on Wednesday, November 20 and will be under the supervision of his teachers.

The incident caused a lot of uproar at the school, after some students found that their faces had been placed in photos with obscene content circulated in groups of students on social media.

They immediately informed the management of the school in question, who found that teachers were also victims of the bad taste prank.

Police arrested a 17-year-old man in connection with a case of residential burglary and theft yesterday.

The 17-year-old is accused of burglary of a residence and theft of an electric bicycle and €200 committed on October 30, 2024.

The members of the ICF Limassol from their on-site examinations secured testimony against the 17-year-old, who was arrested and detained.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man for illegal entry into the Republic.

The man was wanted by the Famagusta ICF since April 16, 2024, in connection with an investigated case of illegal entry into the territory of the Republic of Cyprus as well as for the offence of prohibited migrant.

The 42-year-old was located today and arrested on the basis of a court warrant pending against him.

A tourist who was staying at a beach hotel in Limassol fell victim to theft. Among other things, his credit cards were taken, only for him to find out later that they had been used. After an investigation, police arrested a 30-year-old woman.

According to the Police, on Sunday 10/11/2024 at 14:00, a 65-year-old visitor, who was staying at a beach hotel in Limassol, reported to the ICF Limassol that on the same day at 07:05 in the morning, his bag, which contained, among other things, his room key card, was stolen from the hotel's beach. Subsequently, the complainant found that a men's watch worth €20, his wallet containing  €10, three bank cards in his name, his identity card and an electronic device were stolen from his room.

The complainant in an attempt to cancel his cards found that his cards were used in four different stores and the sum of 266.99 US dollars was extracted.

Members of the ICF Limassol went to the scene and on-site examinations carried out found that entrance was achieved using the key card, which was previously stolen from the beach.

On-the-spot examinations secured testimony against a 30-year-old woman from Limassol and, as a result, a judicial arrest warrant was obtained against her.

The 30-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.

The ICF Limassol continues the examinations.

A possible arson on a vehicle in Engomi, Nicosia, is being investigated by the Police, as a spokesman for its Communication Branch said.

Specifically, at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, a fire broke out in a vehicle belonging to a 60-year-old woman. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Brigade.

Preliminary examinations show that the fire was set maliciously. The exams will resume today.

The Game Service arrested a 59-year-old man on Sunday to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of illegal transportation of a shotgun without a hunting license and illegal possession and transport of explosives.

The men of the Game Service caught in the act the 59-year-old from Nicosia driving his vehicle in the area of the village of Akoursos in the Paphos district and having a shotgun inside his vehicle in a permitted area for hunting, but without holding a hunting license.

The 59-year-old was taken to the Pegeia Police Station where he was charged in writing with the offence of illegal possession and transport of explosives to be summoned later before the Court. As evidence, the shotgun was received as well as 120 full cartridges.
