The second annual meeting of the partners of the ENGINEER project in Cyprus, coordinated by the Cyprus University of Technology, has been completed. The project aims to develop innovative civil engineering and geoinformatics methods for heritage conservation and is funded by the European Union and British Research and Innovation.
The first day of the meeting took place in Limassol, where the partners gathered to analyze the results of the project so far and set the plan for the next steps. The presentations focused on various aspects, such as completed training activities, ongoing research studies, and mobility actions between partner institutions. The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the visit to the archaeological site of the Tombs of the Kings in Pafos, which is also the subject of research of the project. After the visit, work continued at the premises of the Cyprus University of Technology in Paphos, where the partners proceeded to a detailed discussion on the next steps of the project.
The planned activities and deliverables to be completed in the coming period were recorded, while emphasis was placed on ensuring the sustainability of the project's results after its completion. The meeting concluded with a general review of the actions and the recognition of the challenges faced by the project in the effort to combine innovation with the preservation of cultural heritage.
The partners renewed their commitment to continue the successful cooperation and achieve the goals set. The ENGINEER project remains a pioneering research venture linking research with the protection of cultural heritage, shaping new perspectives to address contemporary challenges in the fields of engineering and geoinformatics.
