Assurances were given to the Deputy Mayor of Pafos, Angelos Onisiforou, that the juvenile shelter operating in the tourist area of Kato Pafos is planned to be transferred to a location outside Paphos, within a reasonable time. The assurances I have received, Mr. Onisiforou pointed out, speaking to Filenews, are that the month of November will be decisive.
The State and the State must immediately provide solutions to a problem with functional, legislative and social dimensions, he also said. In difficult times like today, the last thing we need are factors that create social unrest and a sense of insecurity in the population, he concluded.
The Deputy Mayor of Pafos paid an on-site visit to the juvenile shelter for the purpose of recording the problems, and then had contacts with competent authorities and services for further information, following the latest incident of the fire that broke out in an apartment of the facility on Sunday 13 October.
