The District Self-Government Organizations (EDA) from 1/7/2024 to 3/10/2024 have issued 2131 planning permits and 2302 building permits and the statement that there is an EDA that has not issued any permit is not valid, Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou said in response, as he says, to statements by the President of the Association of Real Estate Appraisers published on Friday.
In a post on social media, the Minister of Interior adds that the aforementioned numbers are expected and should increase in the coming period, saying that they are in cooperation with the EDA, the ETEK and other partners to help in the effort with measures such as the urban planning certificate valid from 2/10/2024, with which urban planning certificates will be issued in 20 days for residences.
In the post, the Ministry further states that despite the fact that an increase of 19% was recorded in sales of new homes in the first 9 months of 2024 compared to last year's corresponding period, the Government has seriously and decisively addressed this important issue.
Furthermore, the Minister of Interior notes that the integrated housing policy, which has been announced and is being implemented, includes urban planning incentives with a rate increase of up to 45% for the production of affordable housing, a build to rent plan for the production of affordable housing for rent, a plan to renovate rent for 2000 homes that will be approved in the next period and the plan to provide financial support to young couples.
Also, the revision and amendment of the plan for the revitalization of borderline, disadvantaged and mountainous areas by correcting distortions and integrating more areas.
