THE LIASIDOU FOUNDATION WON A COMPETITION

The Margarita Liasidou Foundation will continue for a second four years the implementation of a supportive network of services and independent living structures in the community for people with disabilities after winning the relevant competition of the Department of Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities.

In an announcement, Niovi Michael Fakonti, Director of the Foundation, welcomed the event, noting that the Foundation's supported living program will be able to continue to offer to the five people with intellectual disabilities who have been living for 4 years in the supported living residence in the Paphos district.

He pointed out that it is a complete stay with a specialized and personalized program of services that aims at care, rehabilitation, socialization and education, in a supportive context, safely enjoying a high quality of life.

The aim of the Foundation is, he adds, to create other supported living homes with a view to improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities, he pointed out.

He said that the relevant agreement with the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities was signed on August 30, in Nicosia.
