The thematic route "Aphrodite" in the Community of Ineia has been selected among the 25 best works for the European Public Spaces Award for 2024, the Ministry of Interior announced. The project was implemented by the Pafos District Administration within the framework of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the project was distinguished among 297 submissions from 30 countries, confirming the high quality and innovation of the intervention in urban public space.
"The thematic route 'Aphrodite' is an excellent example of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Cyprus, while offering an upgraded public space for the community of Ineia."
The European Public Spaces Award, organised every two years by the Barcelona Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB), aims to recognise and promote works that create, recover and improve public spaces in European cities.
