PAPHOS COMPLEXES - 'HEADQUARTERS' OF 3 COMPLEXES DECIDED

 Filenews 16 August 2024

The Ministry of Interior took final decisions on the seats in 3 of the 30 service complexes in which there was a tie or no majority at the first meeting of their Council for the selection of their seat.

All three cases concern clusters in the Paphos district. The community leaders of these complexes could not reach decisions on the seat of the cluster and as a result the decision under the legislation belongs to the Minister of the Interior based on the criteria provided for in the law, which are the geographical location, the population and the premises available to the community.

The Minister of Interior concluded at the headquarters of the 3 complexes after the reports he received from the District Officer of Pafos. Specifically, for Cluster A, in which there was a tie vote of the Communities of Goudi and Peristerona, it was decided that the seat of the Complex should be in Goudi, while for Cluster C, in which there was a tie vote of the Communities of Tsada and Kallepia, it was decided that the seat should be located in Tsada.

Finally, in the Pafos D Cluster in which there was no majority and candidates for the seat were the Communities of Statos/Agios Fotios, Panagia, Pentalia and Amargeti, the seat will eventually be located in the village of Pentalia.
