The Licensing Authority suspended the entry permits of 22 urban and intercity taxis for a period of one week between June 20, 2024 and July 10, 2024.
The Authority warns in an announcement issued today that the license for taxis that violate for 30 days the terms and conditions for use of the urban area of Larnaka airport will be permanently suspended.
As reported, the Licensing Authority suspended entry permits at Larnaka airport for a week for a total of 22 urban and intercity taxis, between June 20, 2024, which was the date of implementation of the decision, and July 10, 2024.
It is noted in the announcement that due to the repeated violation of the terms and conditions for the use of the urban area of Larnaka Airport by drivers and/or holders of road use licenses for urban and intercity taxis, the Licensing Authority decided to immediately suspend for a period of seven days the right of entry to Larnaka Airport to those who commit an infringement.
It is added that in cases where infringements are repeated, the period of suspension of the right of entry will be increased by seven days, up to a maximum of 30 days, when the right of entry will be permanently suspended.
Taxi drivers in Paphos note that widespread piracy is also recorded at Paphos airport and call on the competent authorities to intervene.
