PAPHOS REGIONAL TOURISM PROMOTES THE AKAMAS REGION

The promotion of the AKAMA communities by ETAP Paphos is enhanced.

The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company continuing its efforts for promotion of Akama communities with the aim of increasing traffic, intensifies this during the promotion and enrichment of the tourist experience.

Special emphasis is given through this effort to the promotion of various museums and information centers such as the Akamas Regional Museum of Rural Life in Drouseia, the Geology and Palaeontology Information Center Akamas in Arodes, the Regional Center Bird Fauna and Terrestrial Flora Information Akamas, in Kathika and the new modern Turtle Museum in Inia.

Through the campaign which is carried out mainly by the Facebook and Instagram channels the ETAP of Paphos Region, invites both local and foreign visitors as well as permanent residents to visit these unique landmarks not only on weekends but any time and day of their operation and to get to know the beautiful up close LAONA-AKAMA wider area. Entry to ALL centers/museums is FREE. A smart application has recently been launched highlighting the Myth of Aphrodite which includes the points of the baths of Aphrodite and the Fountain of Amorosa with rich information material in 5 languages ​​and technological tools such as augmented reality, 360 degree tour, acoustics guided tour etc.

With funds from ETAP, experiential workshops are operated at the Drouseia Museum of Rural Life for the months of June – July, while the presentation film of the Turtle museum in Inia has published in three additional languages ​​(French, Polish and Russian).

In progress during this time there is the process of creating an AKAMA website, creation and use of NKD, the creation and placement of smart signs in various places, creation promotional video for Peripheral Bird Fauna and Flora Information Center Akamas and other works. The excursion that is offered free of charge every Saturday for the months of June-July for Akamas is overbooked, with only a few seats available for the last departure which is July 27.

The actions to enrich the tourist experience as well as the promotion of AKAMA will continue throughout the year by ETAP Paphos.
