The arrest of a 28-year-old man was carried out by the Pafos Police in order to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of causing concern and non-compliance with the instructions of a member of the Paphos Police Authority.

According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on 13.6.24 at around 13:30 members of the Pafos Traffic Police went to a store following information that there was a fight between customers. The store is located on Eleftheriou Venizelou Street. With the presence of the Police, three persons were found there who were conversing intensely with each other.

They were called out of the store while one of them came out of the store and continued shouting, causing concern by refusing to comply with the instructions of the Police.

Then, at 21:00 on Thursday night, the 28-year-old was charged in writing and released to be summoned later.

 A twenty-four-year-old man was found on Thursday driving under the influence of drugs in Paphos, while a search of the vehicle and his bag revealed drugs.  According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, at 18:40 on Thursday, members of the Paphos Crime Prevention Squad who were conducting inspections on Morphou Street stopped a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old for inspection.

A search of his vehicle revealed a bag of five grams of cannabis as well as a crystal methamphetamine-like substance.

The 24-year-old was arrested, while the drug test he underwent had a positive result.

Subsequently, the 24 year old was taken to the YCAN offices [Klimakio Paphos], he was accused in writing of the offences of illegal possession of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs, and he was released to be summoned later.

Members of the YKAN (Limassol Unit) stopped for inspection at around 6.40 yesterday afternoon, five persons who were in an open area in Limassol.

During the ensuing investigation, three of them were found in possession of small quantities of cannabis and arrested for flagrant offences. They are two 26-year-olds and a 27-year-old.

A search of the car of a fourth person, aged 26, found a cardboard box containing a total of 300 pieces of fireworks and he was arrested for the offence of illegal possession of explosives.

All those arrested were charged in writing and released, while the YKAN (Limassol Unit) in cooperation with the Polemidia Police Station continue the examinations.

A 28-year-old man appears to have fallen victim to online fraud, who complained to the ICF of Limassol that a bank account indicated to him for sending a transfer of €46,900 to a car sales company does not belong to this company.

According to the ICF of Limassol, the 28-year-old complained that, after exchanging emails that appeared to come from a car sales company, he proceeded to transfer €46,900 to a bank account indicated to him in England.

The complainant found out that he was a victim of fraud when he was informed by this company that they never received the money.
