It was with great pleasure that I was informed by the Minister of Transport and Works, Mr. Vafeadis, that we finally came out with tenders for the study of the construction plans for the project to upgrade the coastal road Chlorakas-Lemba-Kissonerga-Coral Bay.
After more than two years of struggle and continuous contacts, both with the competent state departments and with my personal contacts with the former and current Minister of Transport, for the first time in almost four decades this road, which is the main tourist road, is being implemented with substantial steps.
The call for tenders for the study of the construction plans is the result of these efforts, I am pleased that what was discussed in the monthly private meetings I had with Mr. Vafeadis is being carried out. At the same time, the process will begin with the necessary expropriations of the affected plots, the goal is to make offers for the construction of the project within about 18 months.
